【爆撃された後みたいな状態】
先月28日、米国フロリダ州南西部に上陸したハリケーン『ian』の破壊力が、台風15号の比ではないぐらいの被害を出しているようです。
台風15号でも日本では静岡をはじめ、各地に甚大な被害を出したわけですが、毎度米国に直撃するハリケーンは、台風とは別物レベルの被害を出すようです。
Twitterにその壮絶な状況が多数アップされていたので、集めてみました。

【他人事じゃない】
米国では平地の面積が大きいからか、風をブロックするものがなくダイレクトに風の威力を受けるせいか、構造物がすっとばされたり破壊されていますが、近年のハリケーン、台風しかり、威力を増しているというのもあるのではないですかね？
日本にあっては、台風接近時の雨量が半端ない状況で水没しているケースが増えているように思います。
一応、台風シーズンは終了（というか、直撃コースは減る時期）となりますが、今後の自然災害対策を実用レベルで考える必要がありそうです。
ハリケーンを海上で弱体化させる研究、どこまで進んでるんですかね？
